RE-ELECT OBAMA?

HOW COULD WE?

In giving some thoughts of the upcoming presidential election, the last election and the time and events that have taken place in between the two dates, I just wanted to do a bit of a recap. This began just to simply refresh my memory of things that have taken place and to help me sort of; ground myself, and reset my brain. There are so many things that happen daily in the world that can, and will, distract or sidetrack us from important facts that are out there.

Take the earthquake in Haiti, my gosh, it happened, and for a month or so it was all, "what can we do to help?". Now, it's hard to even place it in our minds because so much has happened in the world since then, that it takes away from the significance of the event.

By just trying to gain a bit of perspective, these thoughts came to my mind.

First off, the economy was already beginning to fall apart when the last election took place. We should all know the basics and the reason for that; The fact that Fannie and Freddie had approval from our government to buy paper for houses that the borrower couldn't [for the most part] pay back. This was done by previous administrations but the fallout was beginning to materialize.

Barack Obama campaigned on a slogan,"Hope and Change". His eloquence with words and stage presence was astounding. Americans had grown weary of wars, government spending and were not to pleased when , no weapons of mass destruction, were found in Iraq. we were so caught up in the moment of having a person who's words sounded so good and so sweet, that if we be honest with ourselves, we really didn't pay attention to what he really was saying.

The person that he was running against didn't have much appeal as far as the stage goes, or content of his message for that matter. I dare say that we would not be in the financial or international position that we are in today had McCain won the election, but, I'm not so certain that it would be a whole lot better, if at all.

What came back into my mind was the fact that there were several things that came to light as Obama ran his election. One was that there was a situation with his birth documents. Another thing that I remembered was that he went to a church for a long time, 20 years or something. The pastor of that church was none other than Jeremiah Write. He was a man that was at the White House in 1998, giving a breakfast sermon during the Clinton era. It wasn't just 1998; it was September 11th, 1998. I know it doesn't mean anything but it strikes me strangely that it was on 9/11. We knew that this pastor was a left , far left thinking individual. He said about the 9/11 attacks, "It looks like America's chickens have come home to roost!" and he has also said, "not God bless America!! but, G__ D___ America!" This is a person that our president listened to for a long time; since he was a child. We all new that, but disregarded it as, I don't know? why did we disregard it? Did we think that maybe Obama slept through church? He wasn't listening to what Write had to say?...

Any way, then there is this guy who kicked off his campaign in his living room. His name is Bill Ayers. Oh what a true American he is! When I was still just a kid, 16 years old, he and his group of thugs or hippies or whatever, they put a bomb in the N.Y.C. Police Department! No, I'm sorry. It was the N.Y.C. Police Headquarters. After that, they bombed the Capitol building and then the Pentagon in 1971 and 1972. This is one of Obama's buddies. How did we miss this? How, as people living in a free society, did we miss the signs of someone who is against our very way of life? I really don't know. By the way, Mr. Ayers didn't go to jail for a good long time; like you or I would for committing such crimes, no, he taught at the University of Illinois from1987-2010?!!! Is this the type of person that deserves to teach our children? He also ran a group to "organize a revolutionary movement in America" from 1992-2002. Look, I'm all for change, even revolution if necessary: but it all needs to be directed in the right direction and to be good not evil. Good is good, evil is evil. some of these folks that Obama has connected with and called "associates" are just that, evil. He slid it by us once, for the sake of our children and grandchildren, we cannot let him do it again!

Like I said before, I think we were all too busy, blinded or something.

Since Obama has been President of the United States of America, he has decided that we need to redistribute the wealth. This is something that he said he would do, before becoming elected. To do such a thing required him to double our debt; allow folks to stay on unemployment for over 2 years. He created and passed a health care bill that had nothing to do with yours or my overall health or wellbeing. It is a plan in which to gain informaton and control over our lives.

He wanted to tax the wealthy and we still have 50% of Americans paying no taxes. Matter of fact, my 28 yr old daughter made about 5 thousand dollars last year, she got a refund of $4200 No wonder this countries is going broke. If the did it for her, how many others. I do understand, if they sent me the check and it was all okay and legal, I'd cash it and say"YaHoo!" That is the plan for the socialist movement, to get all of us so lazy and dependant on them, [like those in Greece}, that we end up lacking in our ability to create and to sustain and to survive, and to just wait for the mailman and a check.

Oh, America, let's look at the real facts this election season and not play into what sounds good. Let's do our homework and decide wisely. This country isn't finished yet. I don't know who it is, but someone will rise to the occasion, and let us be ready to back him or her with all we've got: because it may be "all we've got!"

Sincerely in Jesus,

Wendell

Rich guys pay gas tax and all of the other mentioned. I wouldn't know, but I would think because of their ability to, that they pay a bunch more of a gas tax, a food tax, etc.

The 50% that do not pay taxes isn't fair for anyone, for you, for me or anyone else. It's true, fair is fair, make more, pay more, but at least pay on what you earn. Like I said, pay taxes on what you earn. Hello?

Right on Shinn, but please do me a favor...I can never get conservatives to own up to being wrong, ever. Seriously, it is like debating a 7 yr old with an attitude sometimes. When you get into researching, please acknowledge when you make an error. I promise to do so if I am wrong. I am in search of that grown up conservative who can actually say, oops. It gets to a point that nobody even cares who's really accurate, just chanting for the teams like it is a Cowboys game. Supply side economics, which everyone has been saying is dead wrong, isn't real and doesn't work...it isn't even logical from the standpoint of beginning with no economic knowledge. We are, at this very moment, in the manifestation of supply side economics. THIS is the fruition of this belief system. The quicker we get realistic, the more chance we have of coming out of this global mess in good shape. If we stick to our ignorance and don't own up to our mistakes, you might as well divide our GDP by 3, get your guns and beer, and move to the mountains.

I would say we start by recognizing how the political spectrum has moved since Reagan. Put Reagan's actions on a piece of paper and write another name at the top for fun. Would you consider him a conservative in the modern sense of the word after doing so? I would suggest that you would consider him farther left than Obama. The rhetoric about Obama is incredible, and a true manifestation of how our political machine has evolved. But, it isn't true. If you put his policies on a piece of paper, the guy would be dead center on the political spectrum. He is as centrist as I can remember. He gets called Hitler; he gets called a socialist. Come on, Hitler rounded up socialists and communist BEFORE he rounded up Jews. The people calling him names don't even realize that Hitler was a fascist authoritarian, with the single liberal policy in his government being the banning of smoking. It is shocking to hear the ridiculousness of all of this. Then, to read someone accusing him of raising taxes? Are you kidding me? He continued Bush's tax cuts AND then enacted a payroll deduction for 98% of the country...for the second time in 3 years. He has actually lowered taxes beyond what Bush did. Seriously folks, it isn't like these are mysteries of the world. They take about 10 seconds to look up.

I have more to write on this subject. There is much more that has happened since our last election that needs to be brought up for discussion. I'll try to get it going in the next few days. It should give us more to kick around, at least I hope so. Thanks folks, Sincerely, W.

I love the comments, I guess you kept track of who made the tax code, sorry I didn't, I just realize that it stinks. Look the're all a bunch of crooks, It's really "us against them", unless of cours you are a socialist and then you are "them". I'm rewording that portion from "taxed" to "wanted to tax" Thanks for pointing it out.

I find it remarkably comical that conservatives, who created this tax code to promote their idea that less taxes mean greater revenue (I know, ridiculous), decry their own tax code when it doesn't work. Also, some of the "facts" in your story are dead wrong, like Obama taxed the rich. We haven't had a tax increase in 19 years. Obama was blackmailed with the entire budget to pass the Bush tax cuts, AGAIN, despite the fact they they (having been continued 3 times so far) are the largest portion of our deficit. Come on man, get serious.

mortimerjackson, Thanks for the reply. It is so good that we can "kick it" and be able to see things from different angles. I just touched on a bit that crossed my mind. the subject is huge, and I invite all to get involved and comment. Let us try to keep our minds stimulated and not distracted. Thanks so much for the interaction. Hope we get more!!

A little crazy on the bold fonts, aren't we? I also like that your solution is to blame the middle class and poor for the economy, and not the billionaires that write them free checks (a la quantitative easing). 50% don't pay tax? How about gasoline tax? Payroll taxes, etc? You know why people don't pay as much income tax now as they did before? Because wages are stagnant. The money has been siphoned from labor, and swallowed up by the management sector of the economy.

I agree. We gotta look at the real facts. Question is, do you?
